Frozen Engagement Session

I scheduled an engagement session with my brother in law and his fiancee without knowing that our desired location was closed due to snow, so you can imagine our panic when we arrived and were greeted by a large NO TRESPASSING sign. And I definitely spotted another trio with an engagement ring and a DSLR heading in there anyway. So the temptation was there, but turns out I'm a total prude, so I just couldn't do it. But then the miracle happened:

Turns out these two had dreamed of taken these pictures on the beach (she's from CA), but Utah in the winter isn't very conducive to beach photos. Unless you decide that a frozen beach in a deep inversion is still viable. In which case Utah is perfectly obliging. So on this freezing day, with a heavy fog of polluted air trapped by the cold and the mountains (thanks Utah), when all of the odds seemed against pretty pictures, we got some magical shots on a beach by a frozen over lake. Life tends to work out.

Leah and Jesse

I first took pictures of my friend Leah when she needed new headshots for theater auditions. I was delighted to hear she was in need of pictures again when she and her boyfriend announced their engagement. The best followup, of course, was being able to take their formal portraits a few months later, the night before their wedding. Congrats to these two beautiful people!

Belated Anniversary Pictures

I first met my cousin's husband when I took their engagement pictures three and a half years ago. the first thing I learned about him was that he absolutely does not like having his picture taken. Accordingly, my cousin has spent the last several years attempting to convince him to take pictures for their anniversary(ies). It only took three years (and a few extra months) but we finally had another photo shoot, and now they have pictures in their apartment besides their engagement and wedding photos.

Adventure Shoot in the Mountains

After months of jaw dropping selfies on Instgram, I told my friend Krista she needed a proper photo shoot. And the results did not disappoint in the slightest! Both of us are excited for the next time we get to go and take pictures together again.

Baby Inside and Out

I feel so lucky to have worked with this beautiful family for both their maternity and newborn pictures! These were so fun to take and I loved getting to know mother, father, big sister, and baby girl.
