Two Rounds of Bridal Portraits

Oh, Utah. Only in Utah can we be covered in a foot of snow at the beginning of the week, only to arrive at a photo location selected for its snowscape to find it grassy by the end of the week! One of our shooting spots was still closed from the blizzard we had had days before. *Face palm* Luckily, this couple (see their GORGEOUS engagement shoot here: (click me!)) is comprised of the two most easy going people I know. So even when the first location was closed (we snuck in for a few minutes anyway before being kicked out), and the second had no snow, and the wind was blowing the veil out of the bride's hair, and the cold air zapped the life out of my battery waaaaaaay faster than expected, and then we met up on another day and followed some vague instructions to the top of a mountain, they were all smiles! I love them and I loved taking their pictures.

The bride who contacted me for these photos was ready to make a very small deal of her portraits. She told me the wedding was a backyard event, that the dress was simple--all in all, that there wasn't anything particularly fancy in mind. But that did NOT stop us from getting fabulous photos! (Especially thanks to my friend Matt, who lent me a camera for the interim until I have a functioning one again). Check out this beautiful bride and groom! Fall Engagements

I could tell from this future bride's orange sweater and her Halloween manicure that fall is her favorite season. I think the best part of a long engagement (they're getting married next year) is that you have your pick of when to take pictures. You could get a gorgeous frozen snowscape, the pastel blooms of spring, a sunny summer day, or like this couple, the explosion of color unique to autumn. We drove up a mountain and blasted our heaters every time we changed location, but the colors, the sunshine, and their smiles were perfect.
