Family Maternity Love

My friend Sierra is one of my favorite humans. If you are familiar with my blog, you've seen her face a lot. I shot her engagements (four times, for variety), her first maternity session, newborns for her daughter, family pictures in between all of this, and now her second pregnancy. Aside from my husband, this woman is absolutely my favorite friend. I am so grateful that our lives collided. Her baby boy is coming at the end of May and I'm excited there's going to be more of this lady's DNA in the world. We need it. 

Roadtrip!!

I don't often get to travel for weddings. Having two littles at home makes it hard to travel as a guest, let alone for the work. Last time I traveled (for my cousin Molly's wedding), it only worked because my husband came too, and my parents put in a lot of quality grandparent time. This time, however, I was resolved to make wedding travel work: if I could fit it all into one day, my husband wouldn't miss any work and would only be alone with the kids for a manageable amount of time (side note: I'm not implying that my husband can't handle time alone with the kids. I'm saying that being the only adult with two children who are at the age and level of neediness as ours is hard, and prolonged single exposure is hard for anyone, me included). So, armed with my audio copy of Gone Girl, I left home at 3am and returned home at 1am. It was a long day, but it was well worth it. I love this sweet girl and her family, and being a part of this wedding was so special.

Backyard Wedding Bliss

                                      


Being a huge fan of the movie Father of the Bride, I have loved the concept of an at home wedding from my childhood. I loved this backyard wedding so much! The mother of the bride did the whole thing on her own, in a month, with only Pinterest as her guide. And she NAILED it. It was so beautiful. The bride's brother was the sweetest officiant, the tulle draped arch was to die for, and the taco truck for dinner was sooooooo good. Spicier than I expected, but still so good. And now I want tacos.
