Cloudy Sunset Bridals

There are few things that fill my photography heart with dread so much as waking up to rain on a session day. Now, if I have learned anything from Instgram, it's that amazing pictures can happen in the rain. I guess The Notebook taught me that too. But there are some sessions that just won't work when it's wet and muddy outside, and in that category are bridal portraits.

Ain't no way that dress needs to be getting dirty before the big day.

So when a session day for bridals started wet and stayed cloudy, I was concerned. BUT THEN the clouds began to part just before sunset. And I pulled up to my shooting location at the time I had adjusted with bride to catch the light and started saying over and over, Man, I love my work. The light was perfect. Perfect perfect perfect perfect. I'm happy just remembering how perfect that light was. And I wasn't the only one who noticed: maid of honor/best friend had come along to assist with the dress, veil, flowers, etc., and kept saying "Wow! The light is so pretty!" She was correct.

This was my last shoot before I resigned to my sentence of pregnancy bed rest, and I'll tell you, I couldn't have picked a better one to go out on.
